KRA Pin Certificate registration Process

The Kenya Revenue Authority(KRA) has digitized the KRA Pin certificate registration process. Unlike the previous years where one had to queue in the Time Tower for long periods of time, the process can comfortably be performed from the comfort of a cyber café or home. Provided one has the internet accessibility, the process is fairly straightforward. You can also register for the KRA Pin certificate through the cyber café attendant although some cyber cafes charge exorbitant fees. You will need to have the following when registering for the KRA pin.

-The date of birth

-The ID number

-The district of birth.

-Father’s last name.

-Mother’s last name.

-Your birth year.

When registering for the KRA pin certificate, you will need to go the KRA website www.kra.go.ke/portal/.

-Once you are on the site, click on Taxpayer registration, which is conveniently found in the e-registration services.

-You will then access the KRA online services page. At this point, you will be required to enter the user id and a password.. By so doing, you will be able to access the system services.

-Go ahead and click the new taxpayer.

-In the next page ;you will choose between; Resident, Non-Resident, and/or the company. Make the appropriate choice.

You should then enter the following particulars:

--ID Number

-Date of birth

-District of birth

-Father’s last name

-Mother’s last name

-The Year of birth

Many people have difficulty using the services and rely on cyber café attendants to obtain the KRA pin certificate for them.
