Schools in Kenya.

(Some perspective).There are thousands of high schools in Kenya and getting a high school education is not that difficult. There are several schools in Kenya, each catering for there own market.


-Private schools in Kenya.
There are very many private schools in Kenya. There are private schools that pursue the 8-4-4 curriculum and there are international schools that pursue the British and American curriculum. The international schools in Kenya are very expensive and mainly admit children of diplomats, expatriates and children of extremely wealthy Kenyans. There fees ranges from Kshs. 350,000 per year to kshs.2, 000,000 million per year. Some of the international schools include the International school of Kenya (ISK), Brookhouse academy, Rossyln Academy, Rift valley Academy, St.Andrews Turi, among others.
The famous private schools that follow the Kenyan 8-4-4 curriculum include Strathmore School, Kianda School, Moi High school kabarak, Lukenya academy, Riara academy among other schools.

-National schools in Kenya.
There are eighteen national schools in the country and they are some of the oldest schools in the country. The most famous national schools include the Alliance High school, Alliance Girls High school, Starehe Boys and Starehe Girls, Mang’u High School, Loreto High school Limuru, The Kenya High school, Nairobi School, Lenana School, Moi Girls Eldoret among others. These schools admit the best students in KCPE and they also post the best KCSE results. Since the inception of KCSE in 1989, a student from a national school has topped KCSE in all but two years. National schools admit students from each district in the country. Education PS Prof. James Ole Kiyapi has indicated that the government will finance the set up of two national schools in each country.
-Provincial Schools in Kenya.
Provincial schools admit students from there respective provinces. Some of the most famous Provincial schools include precious Blood Girls Riruta, Pangani Girls, Friends School kamusinga, Lugulu Girls among other provincial schools.

-District schools in Kenya.
District schools form a majority of the high schools in the country. They mainly admit students from there provinces.
